ABA therapy continues to be the gold standard of care for autism intervention.

We currently provide both focused and comprehensive ABA therapy for individuals between the ages of 2 and 5 that have been diagnosed with autism.

Within treatment we develop a customized teaching program. We work on a range of skills to empower a learner to express themselves, achieve their goals and live life to the fullest. These include social skills and communication, gross and fine motor, independent living, emotional regulation, and problem-solving skills to name a few.

While early models of ABA placed a heavy emphasis on flashcards and work at a table, at MethodWorks, ABA therapy is often child let involving activities that the learner enjoys. Laughter, safety and fun are critical parts of a successful ABA session.

Outcomes vary based on an individual’s needs, time available, and key caregiver involvement, but in all cases, we expect measurable progress. If a child is not making progress, we adjust until we find the right teaching approach that works well for them.

For Providers

MethodWorks currently provides ABA for children ages 2-5. At this time, many insurance companies only cover ABA for individuals diagnosed with autism.

ABA therapy can lead to significant improvements across multiple developmental domains including social, communicative, emotional, cognitive and key functional skills including (but not limited to) leisure skills, personal hygiene, safety skills, and activities of daily living. It is also an effective intervention for several problem behaviors including self-injury, aggression, threats, pica, elopement, feeding disorders, or dysfunctional social behaviors.

ABA can be time consuming. We find that kids learn best when parents respond to a need or challenge in the same ways their therapists do, so we work closely with parents during the treatment process.

Many individuals with autism need support from multiple disciplines. We strive to collaborate and coordinate with other members of individual’s clinical team to support the best possible clinical gains.

MethodWork’s clinical staff are board certified and adhere to the professional and ethical standards established by the BACB (Behavior Analyst Certification Board).

Our ABA program is play-based and highly individualized.

If you are interested in pursuing ABA therapy, the next step is an initial consultation. During the initial consultation, you will meet with one of our board certified clinicians to determine together if ABA therapy would be a good fit.
